A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

Hi everyone! Jessica here—thanks for stopping by. I would like to introduce myself as the owner of the nonprofit, Love For Meow.

A little bit about me: I live in Harwinton, CT, have a degree in nursing and in health science. I have worked as a Registered Nurse for about 9 years now. Currently, I work full-time as an RN Care Coordinator. I am also a nationally certified NASM Personal Trainer.

I love staying busy— some things I like to do for fun include running, hiking, golfing, spending time with my family, friends, and all my fur-babies.

I have always had the desire to work with animals, so I am working towards opening a cage free cat sanctuary in CT! This has been a dream of mine now for some years. I finally have become an official 501(c)(3) so I’m ready to make this dream a reality!

Please take some time to check out the website and the gofundme page (link attached-it will explain everything in more detail). We could use any donation big or small, please help me help the kitties! I can’t do this alone. Once I have a place, please stop down and visit, come play and snuggle with the kitties. Thank you! Happy tails!

  • Summer Perratti

Summer is the definition of an animal lover—she cannot recall a time in her life where cats were not a significant part of it. Often referred to as a “Cat Whisperer,” Summer has transformed her adoration for felines into a meaningful career path. Summer operated an independent pet care service for over five years, building beautiful bonds with pet parents and their fur babies. She also holds a degree in Communications and Media Studies from Quinnipiac University, which allows her to employ marketing and copywriting skills to bring her passions to life. Summer has also completed the Cat Behavior and Retention course from the Humane Society of the United States.

When her “heart” cat, Sammy, was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2021, Summer found herself immersed in the world of pet nutrition and wellness. Now, she practices nutritional, behavioral and other basic counseling to educate pet parents about the beauty of felines.

Summer views her board position on Love For Meow as an incredible honor and opportunity to help more cats find homes. Summer developed Love For Meow’s website and plans to help maintain the organization’s digital image, as well as marketing and fundraising efforts.
